About Me

The North Canton native received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Kenyon College and his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law where he was a member of the Emory Law Journal. John began his legal career as an associate attorney at Day Ketterer LPA, following his law school internships with BellSouth, CNBC, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Federal Trade Commission. From 1999 to 2014, John worked at Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co LPA.

John is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Stark County Bar Association where he is a member of the Elder Law and Probate Committees. He has presented continuing legal education (CLE) seminars to other attorneys for the Ohio State Bar Association and he has lectured for the Area Agency on Aging on estate planning and probate topics. He was awarded recognition as one of The Best Lawyers in America® through a prestigious peer review study. When he was younger, John was named one of Ohio Rising Stars (2006-2009) by Cincinnati Magazine and Ohio Super Lawyers® – Rising Stars Edition® and superlawyers.com.

John is a graduate of Leadership Stark County and is committed to supporting charitable organizations. He recently completed two years as Director of Endowment for the YMCA of Greenville, South Carolina, where he focused on raising funds through planned giving. John is a past board chairperson for the Paul & Carol David YMCA. Also, he has been a Rotarian since 2003. John, his wife Georgeann, and their children Amelia and Grant, are active in the Faith United Methodist Church. John enjoys playing soccer and swimming, including open water swims. He has completed the Kelleys Island Swim in Lake Erie, and several swims in South Carolina: the Upcountry Splash in Lake Jocassee; Mountains to Main Street Half-Ironman in Lake Keowee; and the Low Country Splash in Charleston Harbor.
